Week 13 Online Journal

This week was a good one. I set out to finish my assignments (they weren't so bad), and i still need to organize my genres to be presentable. i did go through and made changes to them. i revised them like i thought they needed it. I also did the peer responder assignment. That was not so bad. I had to pick out three peer responses that were made to me. i had to quote them and tell how they helped my MRP. Next, i had to pick out three responses that i made to other my peers and give the URL for their genre. I then had to tell how i rated myself as a peer responder. i put that i was not a very good one. i do not like to critique people's work. I feel that they have worked very hard on it, and it is not my place to tell them that they need to change it to meet my standards. Lastly, i had to write goals for myself as a peer responder in the future. I put that I will try to look at they content of the author rather than the grammar. i also put that i will try to feel more comfortable when editing the work of my peers.

This week, like last week, i worked on my assignments from my home computer. I did not go to the computer lab at Smith Hall with my buddies, Julie and Cindy. We are slacking.

As a result of the work that i have done this week, i have realized that i am not the only one who hates to criticize other people's works. When reading what others put, i noticed that they feel the same way that i do. For some reason, that made me feel better.

As for questions, i am not sure of how to get everything organized on my blog. i have looked at the MRPs of the summer class, and i do not know how to make mine look like that. I tried saving the stories to "online in weblog," but that put the entire story on the homepage. I hope that i figure it out in time.

Week 12 Online Journal

Well, I must say that this has probably been one of the best weeks in my life! I became an aunt this week, and I am in seventh heaven. He is beautiful!

Now, on a less exciting note, I will tell you about my school work over the past week. The MOO session was really helpful this week because it made me realize that I have lots and lots of more citations to make. I did not realize that I had to cite so many things. I mean, I knew that I had to give credit to the sources that I got the information from, but I did not realize that it included the things that I have learned in my classes.

For this week, I planned on writing preface, about the author, and acknowledgement sections of my Multigenre Project. I have finished all three. I also had to peer review the unifying genres for the people in my group. I really enjoyed looking at everybody’s ideas. They were all so good. I still need to review everybody else’s sources as well as revise my own. I also need to include some intext citations.

In order to finish my work this week, I worked on my assignments at my house. I did not go to the computer lab this week. I decided to take a break. So, Julie and Cindy, I missed you guys!

As for questions, I really do not have any. I am worried that I am not going to get all of my citations. I have a book, but I am afraid I am going to miss something. Other than that, I think I am question free about the project and about the class.

Week 11 Online Journal

Well, we now have 5 weeks left of school! I can’t believe it! This week went by pretty fast. It was a pretty good week. I had a lot of things to do (I still have to do most of it), but I do not mind. I was sick on Tuesday, so I didn’t get very much done on that day. Wednesday, my mom came down and took me out to eat, so I didn’t get to do much on that day either. I have done my unifying genre, which is the email exchange. I also did my peer reviews. Now, I just need to make a draft of my research sources.

The content addressed this week dealt with research and drafting the genres. It was pretty easy. I finished my work this week mainly by working on it at home. I just went to the computer lab on one day, and I don’t think that I did anything that day that I went. I plan on going to the library tomorrow and working more on my power point and my resource page.

As a result of my work this week, I learned that as long as I pace myself, I can get my work done in an unstressful way (I hope that makes sense). What I mean is I don’t need to worry about getting everything done as soon as I can. I need to place my work over a period of time, and I will get it done on time. It has taken me this whole semester, but I think I have finally learned that concept. I have to learn that concept in order to survive the rest of this semester and the semesters after this one.

As far as questions, I don’t have any. Like I always say, if I think of any, I will ask the group.
