Week 10 Online Journal

Well, this week was a pretty good one (other than the fact that our house got broken into). As far as school goes, this was a good week. For this week, I set out to finish my power point. I wanted to get that out of the way because that was my biggest genre. I say that because I spent the most time on it. It didn’t necessarily have more information than my other genres, but I have never done a power point before. Therefore, I had to spend more time preparing it. I also had to peer review my group’s genres. That was fun (as usual). Everybody seems to be doing such a good job. Lastly, I had to do my journal, which is what I am in the process of doing (obviously).

The content addressed this week dealt mainly with research and working on the MRP. It was basically the same thing that I have been doing for the past few weeks. I did look up some peer-reviewed articles (I finally figured out how to do it).

The way that I finished my work this week was I went to the computer lab in between a few of my classes with Julie. I also went to the library during our class time on Wednesday. I spent some time at my house working on my project as well.

Because of the work that I finished this week, I have learned that I can do power point. I know that most people already knew how to do it, so they may not feel like they have accomplished something really good. Before I learned exactly how to do power point, I thought that it would be the hardest thing in the world to do. I thought that I would never have the time or motivation to do it. After I learned, I realized that it wasn’t so bad. It was actually pretty fun finding all of the clip arts to insert into the pages. I really enjoyed working on it. I must say that I am very proud of myself.

As far as questions, I do not have any (like always). I am trying to figure out how to make some corrections in my power point on my blog, but I am sure I will eventually figure it out. If I have problems, I will ask the class.

Week 9 Online Journal

Wow! I cannot believe we just complete week 9! i just realized it when i wrote my title, "Week 9 Online Journal." Well, this was a good week for me. It went by pretty much stress free. For this week, i set out to finish all of my assignments (as usual). i also wanted to do some more research for my project.

The content for this week mainly consisted of research and working on the genres. I peer-reviewed my groups genres, which was very interesting. i love reading what other people are doing. We also had to finish another genre. i haven't done that yet, but i plan on doing that after i finish my journal. The MOO session was very helpful this week. it made me realize that we are moving along with our MRPs pretty quickly. We are pretty much ALMOST finished with the semester!!!

As always, in order to finish my work this week, i went to the computer labs in smith hall with julie and cindy. Cindy decided to join us this week (not everyday though). i also worked on my assignments at my house, and i am doing my journal at my home in Logan. i had to come home this weekend because we are having a baby shower for my sister-in-law. I'M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!!

While doing my work, and joining the MOO session this week, i learned that this MRP is actually pretty fun. i am not saying that it is my favorite thing to do, but it is not a hassle to do it. It is not something that i dread doing everyday. i also learned that i need to start thinking about my unifying genre. i am either going to use a brochure or e-mail exchange. i haven't decided yet.

As for questions, i don't have any at the moment. i always think of questions while i am working. I will ask the class if i come up with any problems.

By the way, i had a birthday yesterday! i am 21. i just thought that whoever reads this would like to know that :) Feel free to wish me a happy belated birhtday.

Week 8 Online Journal

8 down, 8 more to go! That's not so bad. It has gone by really fast so far. For week 8, i set out to finish the assignments, and have yet to do so. I did finish my journal genre. i also worked some on my powerpoint (i actually enjoy doing that). i plan on working on my other genre either tonight or tomorrow.

The content addressed this week mainly dealt with the MRP. I had to do some research related to my project so that i could work on my genres and my powerpoint. Other than the research, and actually working on my project, i haven't done much. i still have to do my peer reviews. i like doing that because i can look at other people's work, but i do not like pointing out things that need worked on. i am not good at criticizing other's work.

In order to finish my work this week, i went to the computer lab (as always) with Julie. Cindy did not bless us with her presence this week. She is slacking on us :-) i also worked on my work at home for once. i waited until nobody was there, and i worked on it. If someone is there, then i tell myself that i can do it later.

After working on my assignments this week, i have realized that this MRP is actually kind of interesting. i like how it all comes together. i like it a WHOLE lot better than a research paper. You get to be creative. It is also a lot more interesting to look at than a research paper.

As far as questions, i am question free for the moment. if i think of any, i am sure that i will e-mail the list.
