I did not know what to expect for this class at the beginning of the
week. My goal was and still is to complete all of my assignments by
tomorrow, which is Sunday. I want to pace myself, but I still want to
get everything finished. The reason I want to do this is because we
will be getting a new assignment sheet on Monday. I like to be very
organized, and I am afraid that I would pile too many things on top of
each other and I would never get any of it finished. I am not one to
put things off. The longer that I wait, the more I think about it. I
get frustrated thinking that I will never get it all done.
The content that was addressed this week was fairly easy. I learned
about my technology setup. I learned things about my computer that I
was not aware of before (I am very computer illiterate). Joining the
Yahoo groups was an easy process, as well as emailing an introduction
of myself to the class list. I visited the bay area writing project
web site and browsed around on it. I also created a weblog. I got my
URL, which is http://www.abbmu.antville.org. That was an easy process.
I still have to read and reflect the three articles assigned in
assignment 1.1.9.
The way that I have chosen to complete my work is simply
disciplining myself. Wednesday night after class, I came home and
began right away. I knew that I needed to sit down and begin my work,
so that is exactly what I did. I went through the support assignment
sheets and decided which assignments I wanted to do first. I figured
out what assignments I wanted to do on what particular day. I knew
that if I got a schedule for myself, then I would be able to do it. My
plan has worked so far, and I plan to continue to do my work that way.
At the beginning of this week, I was thinking, "I will never get
through this class!" However, after I began doing the work, it was not
so hard. I know that it is just the first week, so I still have my
doubts. I am a little less worried though. I think that if I do not
allow myself to become too overwhelmed, then I can handle it.
I still have a few questions about the class in general. I do not
know what to expect about the big project. I hope that I can handle
it. I get worried that my lack of computer skills will hold me back
from the work that is expected of me. I know that this question will
not be answered for several weeks, but it is my main concern.
